Murley Silver

Murley Silver Band is a Championship Band participating in contests, concerts and marching engagements. The Band is located in Fivemiletown, in the heart of the Clogher Valley. We are former North of Ireland Champions (2007/2008/2014) and 2014 Valley Hotel Brass in Concert Champions. We have previously represented Northern Ireland at the European Championships in Norway (2008), Belgium (2009) and Lille (2016). Being one of the premier brass bands in Ireland, we have presented stunning marching displays at the Belfast Tattoo and the Glasgow Tattoo in 2017 alongside our friends from Dungannon Silver Band.The band from Fivemiletown, County Tyrone, Northern Ireland was founded in 1924 and took its name from the local district of Murley, a few miles from the town. Currently we have around 30 subscription amateurs, who all share the same passion – making music. The resident conductor is David Hawthorne. The band rehearses every Tuesday night at 8.15pm at Edfield Way, Fivemiletown. We welcome new members, so feel free to come along to ‘sit-in’ on a rehearsal or contact us via the links below for more details.As well as the main contest band, we have a thriving Concert Band which rehearses on Tuesday from 7.30pm and welcomes players of all ages and stages to enjoy music making in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.
